TPRS Glass processes flat glass for industrial and equipment applications, including LED lighting covers, switchboard and switch panel glass, touch panels and equipment viewing windows. Toughened, back-painted and printed flat glass is produced to drawing, so cut-outs, fixing holes and colour are specified per component rather than selected from stock.

What flat glass does inside equipment
Inside a light fitting, a switch plate or an instrument panel, glass is doing a job plastic cannot: it stays clear, stays flat and stays unscratched for the life of the product. These are all flat soda-lime components, toughened and finished to drawing.
A lens or cover over an LED array has to pass light without yellowing and hold its shape next to a heat sink. Toughened flat glass does both, where polycarbonate discolours and distorts over time. Where the light needs diffusing rather than transmitting, an etched or printed face scatters it evenly without the hot-spotting a clear cover shows.
Back-painted toughened glass gives a switch plate a colour seen through the thickness of the pane, a surface that wipes clean and an edge that does not scuff. The colour is applied to the rear face, so the visible surface is bare glass and stays glossy where a painted plastic fascia dulls with cleaning.
Cover glass over a touch sensor or a gauge face has to be dimensionally accurate, optically flat and strong enough to take repeated contact. Cut-outs for buttons, sensors and fixings are machined before toughening, because a toughened pane cannot be drilled or notched afterwards.
Panels that let an operator see into a machine or a cabinet are usually toughened, and laminated where a failure could throw fragments toward someone. Both are flat soda-lime glass processed to the opening, with edge finish specified for the gasket or bonding system holding it.
Glass does not yellow under ultraviolet light, does not soften near a heat source and does not scratch under routine cleaning. For a product expected to look new after years in service, those three properties are usually what decides the material, not the unit cost of the component.
TPRS processes flat glass made from silica sand. It does not supply borosilicate, opal, lead or radiation-shielding glass, or industrial sight and level gauge glass. Where a component genuinely needs one of those materials, a specialist maker is the right source.

FAQs
Glass plays a vital role in LED lighting by providing light diffusion, clarity, and protection. TPRS Glass processes precision toughened glass that enhances brightness and ensures uniform light distribution in LED fixtures.
TPRS Glass remains scratch-free and glossy even after long-term use, unlike traditional plastic panels.
Unlike plastic, TPRS Glass can endure extreme heat without warping or discoloration, ensuring consistent performance.
TPRS Tuffsafe - Toughened Glass provides superior insulation, preventing shocks and protecting internal circuits from heat.
TPRS Glass offers rich, customizable colors through back-painting, enhancing design flexibility and luxury aesthetics.
Toughened flat glass, clear where the light should pass straight through and etched or printed where it needs diffusing. Glass is chosen over polycarbonate because it does not yellow under ultraviolet exposure and does not distort next to the heat of an LED array, so the fitting looks the same after years in service.
Back-painted toughened glass. An opaque colour is cured onto the rear face so it is viewed through the thickness of the pane, which gives the depth and gloss a painted plastic fascia cannot match, and leaves bare glass as the surface people touch and clean.
No. TPRS processes flat soda-lime glass made from silica sand: toughening, laminating, insulating, bending, printing and back-painting. Borosilicate, opal, lead and radiation-shielding glass are different materials produced by specialist manufacturers.
