TPRS is a processor rather than a merchant. Glass is cut, edge-worked, drilled, toughened, laminated, bent or printed to submitted drawings at two plants in southern India, then crated and shipped. That suits project work with a defined schedule of panels; it does not suit a single replacement pane needed this week.

What TPRS processes
Thermally treated glass for safety-critical positions and for panes exposed to thermal stress. All cutting, drilling, notching and edge work is completed before the furnace, because none of it is possible afterwards. Heat soak testing is available and should be specified for any toughened pane at height.
Two or more panes bonded to an interlayer, in PVB or stiffer ionoplast where the laminate carries structural load. This is the specification for balustrades, overhead glazing, acoustic performance and security build-ups, because the fragments stay on the interlayer rather than clearing the opening.
Sealed double and triple units with low-emissivity or solar control coatings on the cavity face. Make-up, cavity width and gas fill are specified per elevation, and edge deletion is carried out so the seal bonds to bare glass rather than to the coating.
Hot bent glass formed over a mould and toughened in the same cycle, and ceramic ink fired into the surface during toughening for spandrels, solar shading patterns and manifestation. Both are made to the drawing rather than cut from stock.

What a UK buyer should confirm
Sea freight from southern India adds weeks to a programme that a local processor would not. For a project with a fixed glazing date, the question that matters is when panels must be released for manufacture, not what they cost per square metre. Ask for the release date working back from your installation window.
Incoterms decide where responsibility passes from supplier to buyer: at the plant, at the port of loading, at the port of arrival or at site. This governs insurance, import duty and who deals with a damaged crate. Agree it before comparing quotations, because two prices on different terms are not comparable.
Glass breaks in transit, and a replacement pane from overseas is a matter of weeks rather than days. Sensible practice is an agreed overage on the order and a written replacement procedure. Ask what percentage is normally supplied as spare and how a breakage claim is handled.
Confirm which approvals cover the exact products being supplied and that they are the right ones for construction products rather than for another sector. Ask for the certificates themselves rather than the marks, since a certificate states its scope and a logo does not.

Yes. UK and Ireland enquiries are handled directly by the team in India, and glass is processed to drawing at the Puducherry and Dharwad plants before being crated and shipped. Send elevations, a glass make-up schedule and your programme dates and you will get a written specification and quotation in return.
Lead time is manufacturing time plus sea freight plus clearance, and it varies with the make-up, the quantity and the shipping route. It is confirmed with each quotation rather than published, because a straightforward toughened order and a coated insulated unit with curved panels are not comparable. Work back from your glazing date and ask for the release date.
Processing is set up for project quantities rather than single panes, so a schedule of panels is the normal unit of enquiry. The commercial minimum is confirmed with each quotation. If you need one replacement pane quickly, a local UK processor will serve you better and faster.

Yes, and that is the normal route. Every panel is made to the submitted drawing, which is what allows hardware cut-outs, notches, non-rectangular shapes and curved panes. Because toughened glass cannot be modified after the furnace, dimensions must be confirmed before manufacture rather than adjusted on site.
A merchant sells glass in stock sizes from inventory. A processor buys float glass and converts it: cutting, edge working, drilling, toughening, laminating, insulating, bending and printing to a specification. TPRS is a processor, which is why it quotes against drawings rather than from a price list.
